As this never ending, ever changing journey of Mike and Jon continued, the lead singer of “Leonard’s Yard” decided to retire. “It’s hard carrying a microphone to the gig and having to take it home late at night when you’re almost 40”.
“Original band seeks lead vocalist/front man.” You got to kiss a lot of frogs to find a prince in the music business. After much persistence and many hours with all types of vocalist auditions, a new singer was eventually found… Quentin London. “The singer defines the sound,” so they say. That being said, Mike and Jon had a brand new original sound. “Liquid Opera” was the name the four members finally settled on for this new original band.
1998, 1999, The Roxy, The Whiskey and the development of their own personal showcase theater. Mike and Jon with Brian and Quentin were four very dedicated equally contributing partners who all invested time and money into the creation of the personal showcase theater. It was an intimate setting for live musicals, an entertainment experience unmatched in the industry. Commitment, passion, dedication — this really looked like an unbreakable situation. One afternoon, however, on the way to a nice dinner with his bride to be, drummer Brian Resh was in a horrible car accident… He was air lifted to Loma Linda Hospital with very little chance of survival.
