Glendora’s Box
As band members come and go in the music business, at the end of 2002 it was back to just Mike and Jon. They maintained the “man cave,” showcase theater/rehearsal studio, in Glendora to continue to grow their original music. The Recycler “musicians seeking bands” section brings a lot of interesting characters to the forefront. Mike and Jon have always enjoyed playing with various drummers, singers, keyboard players and have made many friends along the way. Mike and Jon both agree however real magic and the gift of music completely kicks in when 3 or more are gathered, working together as a team, with the spiritual melodic chemistry that truly equates to “a band.”
This was the case when drummer, Saint Buenrostro and female lead vocalist Bobbi Meikel separately arrived to the team. The band was named reflecting Mike and Jon’s studio location where years of musical madness and creativity had taken place: “Glendora’s Box”. This band experienced a lot of fun and was very successful over the next few years playing gigs everywhere including The Viper Room, House of Blues, BB King’s, winning first place in “The Battle of the Bands” at BB King’s Universal CityWalk. A couple of “Rock Videos” and their fantastic Glendora’s Box “Alive” album, with 12 original tunes, was accomplished in 2006, recorded in Glendora’s Box, mixed & mastered by Ron Sachs.
