Our Second Record

Leonard's Yard 2nd CD, MOVE photo“You guys sound as good live as you do recorded.” The Band became a local favorite at L J’s in Placentia. They loved to play live and put on energetic shows. Mike was known for his wireless guitar and getting up on the bar or jumping from pool table to pool table while ripping through a lead solo. The Leonard’s Yard CD was in the jukebox there and someone always played it during breaks. Mike and Jon’s favorite saying was: “We are doing what we love and loving what we do.” Along the way they were propositioned by a couple producers to make another record.

Val Comso and Dakota Michaels believed in angels and believed in Leonard’s Yard. They wanted to produce the bands second record. They had a concept idea and some connections in the off road racing circuit.

MOVE's liner: lyrics
This was the first time Mike and Jon had ever been asked to write songs about various things such as… off road racing, team spirit, hot chili, and Memory Of Victims Everywhere, hence the title track and Leonard’s Yard’s second record, “MOVE”. The band played a show at Glen Helen Raceway with over 5000 race fans in attendance in the 1997 racing season.
