God is Good / Almost Three Decades / Building the Sandbox
Since their musical journey began in 1994, Mike and Jon both have managed to maintain successful marriages; nothing good comes easy. Putting family first, they contributed to the raising of a combined 8 kids, most of whom went to college, with the two youngest now being just short of 30 years old. Wow, time flies when you’re having fun! Life can slow down the creative process at times, however there is a season for everything.
Mike and Jon believe every day is a gift from God. Through the closing of 2022, a plethora of our musical heroes have passed: John Bonham, Freddie Mercury, Michel Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, Keith Emerson, Greg Lake, Tom Petty, Eddie Van Halen, and Jeff Beck, just to name a few. It is a blessing to still be here.
In 2019, Mike began construction of “Sandbox Studios”, his home studio, located in Coachella Valley, California, for the continued writing and recording of Mike and Jon Music. Covid-19 put a damper on everything in 2020 and 2021. In 2022, “Sandbox Studios” finally got to have a “Glendora’s Box” live jam reunion: Saint, Bobbi, Jon, and Mike, with Ron Sachs recording the venue. “Sandbox Studios” produced and completed 4 songs in 2022, two live jams from the GBox reunion, and two studio recordings featuring Rocky Romano on drums and Rashon Murph on keyboards.
“Down that Road” was Mike’s first song written specifically to praise our Lord, Jesus Christ. Mike and Jon believe in angels, believe in God and believe in Jesus. They are very thankful to have been blessed with the God-given gift of music and hope that their songs will inspire others to be set free in 2023 through our Lord and Savior.
